Habitat is only able to succeed thanks to the support of our local community and people like you. There are a number of ways you can help support Habitat for Humanity–Cape Area.
1) Cash donations.
Through this most basic form of support, we are able to keep building affordable, secure homes for families in need in the area. See the donations page for more information about how to help support us through your generous donation. Also, make sure to check out Goodsearch and Schnucks eScrip program for ways that your normal daily activities can start helping us raise money without costing you a dime!
2) In-kind donations.
In many ways, we depend on companies and individuals to provide us with materials needed to fulfill our mission. In-kind donations can range from supplies we need to complete builds to office equipment and supplies to food for our volunteers. 3) ReStore donations.
The ReStore only operates thanks to the donations of members of the community. We generally accept new and reusable building materials, home remodeling supplies, appliances, and furniture. You can bring it to us or we can even come get it from you. See the ReStore donations page for more details.
4) Volunteer.
The backbone of our organization is the volunteers that help us build our homes. You don’t need to be a skilled worker but just willing to swing a hammer or paint a wall! We have construction coordinators that will help you learn about the job they need your help with. You can also volunteer to help us in the ReStore. It regularly needs cleaned, organized, and stocked. Likewise, we are always looking for community members to serve on committees and help us keep the organization moving. 5)Find us families or lots.
We need families and land to make Habitat homes possible! If you think you have an individual or family that would make a good partner family, take a look at the Habitat process and Becoming a Homebuyer and have them contact us to schedule an application. 6) Join our Board.
If you have a strong interest in helping to assure affordable, secure housing for individuals and families in need in the Cape Area then consider joining us on a committee or our Board of Directors. We’re always looking for committed individuals to help further our mission!
